There are no limits on foreign ownership of land or real estate in Argentina . The two largest landowners in Argentina are now the Benetton Group ( Italy ), with more than 1m hectares in Patagonia , and Cresud ( Argentina ) with nearly 500,000 ha. The economic crisis has resulted in falling real estate prices, and there have been some high-profile investments in Patagonia . Similarly in Buenos Aires , investment funds and foreign citizens are believed to have been strong buyers of prime properties. Preliminary figures from the agribusiness census have shown a solid trend towards concentration of property
